La Merna brings authentic Chicago-style tavern pizza to Dupont Circle in a nostalgic wood-paneled space. Founded by Chicago native G. Bradley Shorten and Meg Schmitt, the restaurant spotlights cracker-thin, square-cut tavern pies alongside classic Italian dishes. The retro dining room features deep red vinyl booths, checkerboard floors, and vintage lamps — evoking old-school Chicago pizzerias and Wisconsin supper clubs. Soft opening began August 13, 2026.
