Tyla (Tyla Laura Seethal) is a South African singer and songwriter born January 30, 2002 in Johannesburg. She pioneered 'popiano' — a genre-defying fusion of pop and amapiano with R&B and Afrobeats influences. Her breakout 2023 single 'Water' made her the youngest African artist to win a Grammy Award (Best African Music Performance), and her 2024 self-titled debut album debuted on the Billboard 200. In 2026 she released 'A*Pop', expanding her global reach.
