unpopular opinion: The Graham Georgetown is the best July 4th rooftop in DC and nobody talks about it. $79 to get in. seventy-nine dollars. for Georgetown, in this city, on a holiday, that is practically criminal. i found it two summers ago when everything else was sold out and i thought i was settling — then i walked into that rooftop bar with the floral ceiling installations and the wicker lights and the Georgetown skyline peeking through and i immediately texted three people to tell them i'd found the spot. the fireworks aren't a direct Mall shot, you're watching from Georgetown which is more of a neighborhood-and-distance feel, but honestly the room makes up for it. the craft cocktails are real cocktails, not event-season vodka sodas. if you've been doing the Perch/Crimson circuit for a few years and want something that feels more intimate and a little stranger, this is it. still under the radar. for now.
