went to the Crimson Rooftop for the Fourth two years ago with my boy Darius expecting nothing and ended up staying until they kicked us out. at $100 a head with unlimited beer and sliders i figured it'd be wall to wall people competing for a three-inch view of the fireworks. instead the set up actually gave you real sightlines — monument in the distance, clear sky, DJ hard in the pocket. the food was better than expected too, came back for dinner the following week just because. i'll say it straight: if you're the type who doesn't need a four-figure table to feel like you had a good night, this is your spot every year. unbeatable price-to-vibe ratio in this city. still the best $100 i've spent on this holiday.
