My introduction to Satay Club was through colleagues when I was working at one of the Asian embassies in the area. Being native Asians, my colleagues felt very strongly about this place and walking in you don’t really expect anything, as it’s a modest looking family owned and operated restaurant. Funny thing is these types of restaurants, especially when it comes to Asian food, deliver. Satay Club is on brand in this instance. Awesome selection of authentic Malaysian, Japanese’s and Chinese’s food from sushi to lo mein to nasi lemak. What I love about this place is that it’s Chinese food done well for both sit down and take out, which I think is hard to do. When I left the embassy position, this is the sport hey took me to for my send off dinner and everything was perfect. If you’re ever hungry for Asian in the van ness area, Satay Club is what I’d recommend 10/10.
